Level 5 Clinical Reflexology is the western world's gentle take, on the ancient 5,000-year-old traditional Chinese medicine.
Widely used in China and India for centuries, Reflexology has become one of the most popular complementary therapy treatments in the world, favoured by Princess Diana, Holly Willerby, Fern Cotton, Katherine Jenkins, Aretha Franklin, even Mohamed Ali.
Clinical Reflexology is a Complimentary Therapy, (Not to be confused with an 'Alternative Therapy') which means, that it is safe to use alongside traditional medicine, for palliative care and pregnancy.
This is particularly the case with a professionally qualified Level 5 Reflexologist, as they will have studied Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology to the recognised NHS level 4.
Reflexology is based on the theory that Reflex points in the feet mirror and relate to the organs, muscles and joints of the body.
Gentle acupressure is applied to the Reflex points, via a thumb walking method whilst using Chi energy.
This stimulates nerve endings in the feet, which in turn send electrical synapses to the brain, via the neurological pathways.
This gentle serge of positive energy unblocks energy pathways or Meridians within the body, helping the natural flow and balance of energy to be reinstated, in order to reach Homeostasis.
Reflexology helps to rebalance hormone levels, and is now proven to actively reduce the Cortisol (the Stress hormone) levels in the body, whilst encouraging the release of Dopamine (the Happy hormone) Melatonin (the Sleep hormone) and Serotonin (the Messenger hormone) resulting in generating a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
Why use a Level 5 Clinical Reflexologist?
The Level 5 Reflexology Mastership is accepted by all the leading membership associations, including The Association of Reflexologists, the Federation of Holistic Therapists, Professional Reflexology, CNHC (the UK's regulator for complementary therapies), and throughout the UK in the NHS and other healthcare industries.
What's the difference between a Level 5 and a Level 3?
A master's in Reflexology is set at Level 5 (the same level as a Foundation Degree). A Diploma is set at Level 3 (the same level as an A-Level).
Also, a master's fully incorporates all the learning requirements of the Core Curriculum in Reflexology, whereas the Level 3 Diploma does not include all the recommended elements of the Core Curriculum.
